idl12
Everything is better when it's longer, I'm a prime example of that,
Koby
Length of a series is never a factor in my judgement. Albeit the only shows that seem to go over 100 episodes is either trying to sell merchandise (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, etc) or simply shonen (Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, Fairy Tail, etc..). At times it does feel like the pacing is dragged through the mud on the longer shows, usually on purpose to prevent adding too many fillers to an already infested series. However I've seen plenty of 12 episode series that were still riddled with fillers unimaginably. My top 5 favorite series has two seasons of 12 episodes each, 11 episodes, 26 episodes, 12 episodes, and two seasons of 25 episodes. So as you can see most of those long running shows, while I like and enjoy them, they rarely rank highly on my top favorites list.
katie_kdc
Although most of my favorite animes end up being 20-40 episodes long, I prefer longer animes. Unless they're Bleach long, then I can't really be bother catching up half the time.
allnall93
I dont really watch anything with less than 20 episodes
LegendaryGirlA
For me, the ideal length is 11-26 episodes. I do find myself enjoying a lot of the longer series but I'll be hesitant to start watching any of them. Especially if they're ongoing series like One Piece... which I'll probably never watch. SenorToucan
Shorter. 1-2 seasons. You always feel more satisfied when finishing them. In contrast, longer series end up dragging on and getting boring, and the endings are never satisfying.
Bryzadude
I like longer ones like Naruto but it's frustrating waiting for new episodes to come outShort series are good when they end properly
rekjl
I don't really mind, I enjoy both. Just not too short that the story is confusing or has a very hurry feel to is, and not too long that everything feels very dragged out.
Th3Purpl3P4nd4
Shorter, as long as it establishes the point.
Monad-Gnostis
Damn thats a tough one I think I prefer both because I've taken notice to the shorters, are usually Animated better, but then we have the longer ones where the animation starts to slip a little,I guess its the longer anime just because it keeps me on my ass longer... gigi15i
it depends ; shorter anime are good because you go straight on the action/ intrigue, but some times they end up too quickly and you stay unsastified (i.e tenjho tenge...); longer' ones never end and you have to wait numerous fillers to get back on the main history -such a torture...-that's why i'm going to say shorter' ones (if the end isn't dashed off...) writersbane
In general, I prefer 12ish episode anime. I loved Madoka Magica because of this, it was well paced and not drawn out, while at the same time being fast and informative. But I also like series that round about 26 episodes on average, and I still watch long ongoing anime (like Detective Conan). earpudding
I prefer one or two 26 episode seasons, mostly because they're the most affordable while still having a plot.
negrobembon
Short unless the long has an awesome story
lady_kurai
I prefer the longer ones because i like to become invested in the stories and in the characters and i don't feel that the shorter ones have as much in depth character and story development as there could be! TTNH
Depends really. The shorter anime tends to have a good storyline as well as no fillers. The longer anime is good as well but they sometimes stretch out the story to make it a full episode. So i guess I would say the shorter anime. animenerd99
It depends on the type of story for the anime, like Fruits Basket, that could've been a little longer, Bleach should've ended awhile back, but mostly i tend to prefer longer animes more to watch and more to enjoy even if it's full of nothing but fillers i do tend to enjoy anyway
