  1. Hello my name is Gilbert, I am currently trying to get a project off the ground. I have 2 decent PCs I can use for rendering and I already have done some working creating my own custom version of warriors of the wind, bubblegum crisis, and a few other releases. My project involves both Dragon Box sets of DBZ, Jap DBZ dragon box set for video and USA dragon box for English audio. I would very much like to upscale the dragon box to 1080p clean up the video and color correct it. I was inspired by a guy who has already completed a project similar and then refused to release it... So I did some digging and research and this is what I found online. Here is what he was able to find " AnimeBytes Avisynth - Lanczos4Resize? Filtered Dbox to showcase the effectiveness of free tools DVD (R2) Left = Region 2 Dragon Box Right = Colour Corrected, Stabilised, Denoised, Sharpened. More specifically, it has been Denoised, Sharpened, Stabilised and Colour Corrected 3. YUV has been remapped from 16-235 to 0-255, 16-235 is a false colour scale and was only used to accomodate old TVs. This means that blacks will actually be black and white will actually be white now. 4. Colour intensity has been increased by 11.65% to stop colours from looking washed out. 5. Every episode has been Inverse Telecined to change the soft telecined interlaced framerate of 29.970 (the standard for NTSC TV) to the true 23.976 progressive framerate. There is no visual difference between these two other than the native switch from interlaced to progressive, most players will auto de-interlace anyway. 6. The pixel aspect ratio has been switched from 10:11 to 1:1, this results in a change of aspect ratio from 720 x 480 to 648/652 x 480. 7. The black border buffer has been cut off as much as possible without losing any picture detail, there will still be some borders because the cropping that needs to be done is different for the first and second half of each episode however the final encode can only be one resolution. To minimise this problem I have averaged the cropped resolution of each episode and used that as the basis for calculating the final resolution. 9. I have added a Contour filter that makes all lines appear more defined or bold, however the real purpose of this filter was to remove blur, the next filter I added counter-acts the bold effect. 10. I added a Sharpen filter that makes lines thinner and gives the image a sharper cleaner look, this can make super thin lines disappear entirely but with the effect of Contour, this should not happen at all. I have yet to see a line disappear compared with the Dragon Box rip and I have very picky eyes. 11. Perhaps to your dismay, I have applied Noise Reduction. This was a hard choice, I did two encodes of the first episode, one with NR and one without and I came to the conclusion that the NR one was better. The benefit of NR is that the small 'dots' or 'grain' that appears everywhere on the screen with the dvd rip is blended together to smoothen out the picture. In this picture the left segment is what the grain looks like and the right segment is what it looks like with NR applied. The downside to NR is that very small tiny detail is potentially lost when it is surrounded by a different colour. I have seen the effect of this but it is very minor and is something I'm willing to accept as the price of the smoother looking image. 12. The video has been encoded with a 2 pass variable bit rate between 570 - 620 Kb/s depending on the length of the episode. This makes every episode fit almost exactly 100 Mb which would mean the whole series would take up 29.1 Gb. he episodes I'm doing will be upscaled to 1080p (for best quality on HD TVs), stabilised (wayyy less jitter, less than the blurays), colour corrected (the dragon box's are known for bad colours), denoised (temporal, not spatial like my old settings) and sharpened (with overshoot/undershoot limiting to prevent haloing/ringing). Each episode will also have the US replacement music as well as the 5.1 English Dialogue + Original Japanese music. They will also have the japanese track from the ORIGINAL BROADCAST (which, if you dont know, is EXTREMELY rare and is the best quality in existence). Not even Toei Animation has the audio in this quality. Each episode will also include the previous episode preview as well as the next episode preview which has now been correctly placed immediately after the episode end and not after the credits. The opening and closing animation for each episode has been cut. The orange bricks were hd remasters which were then downscaled to 480p to adhere to dvd standards. Automatic or not, the film scan was tampered with and is where these "remastered" sets were born from. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfuB7q558sM Ashura, I did ask him once, because he did something like this. Here's the response: Hi, I'm not sure if your familiar with Avisynth but if you are I used: #Restores 23.976 fps AssumeTFF() TFM() VinVerse Tdecimate(mode = 1) #Sharpening LimitedSharpenFaster(exborder=4, strength=150) AAA() #Denoise MCTemporalDenoise(settings="high") #Colour Correction Tweak(sat=1.17) Then I opened that .avs with TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works and added the filters: Contour: 100, Wide Sharpening: 15 (This is the difference between the pic and video, the video has this filter and the pic doesnt) And that was encoded with x264 with settings: cabac=1 / ref=1 / deblock=1:1:1 / analyse=0x1:0x131 / me=umh / subme=9 / psy=1 / psy_rd=0.40:0.00 / mixed_ref=0 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=2 / 8x8dct=0 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=0 / chroma_qp_offset=-2 / threads=3 / sliced_threads=0 / slices=1 / nr=100 / decimate=1 / interlaced=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=0 / weightp=2 / keyint=240 / keyint_min=23 / scenecut=40 / intra_refresh=0 / rc_lookahead=60 / rc=cbr / mbtree=1 / bitrate=800 / ratetol=1.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=0 / qpmax=51 / qpstep=4 / vbv_maxrate=800 / vbv_bufsize=786 / nal_hrd=cbr / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:0.60 And it took my computer 6 hours to encode I think the result is magnificent. The biggest problem is the denoise as it is difficult to remove noise without destroying detail. MCTemporalDenoise does a good job of denoising while keeping most detail, I think the trade-off with these settings is worth it but each to their own I guess. " Anyone who can help me make heads or tails of all this and of course help me correct the settings because these settings the guy at least admitted were older than his last settings... Im ignoring his file size quotes cause I know they are going to be decent size per eps, I would also like to encode in 10bit. I do feel the steps he takes in the order does improve the quality of the upscale and over all image. and IMO this would be a much better release than the "Remasters" where they cut and crop
  2. Why did the website randomly give me a profile picture from my computer?

  4. Just asking if i can release international stuff (Arabic,Albanian etc) too.
  5. So I'm trying to work with some DVDs and make encodes to watch on my tablet and such. The DVD seems to have a mix of telecined 24p content and legitimate 30p content. I know it's pretty much unheard of, but I'm certain that not all scenes are telecined 24p, some are definitely 30p. I started by trying to encode at a constant 24fps, and noticed that some scenes here and there were missing frames compared to the DVD. I then tried encoding at a constant 30fps, and those outlier scenes did appear to have a higher frame rate. However, if I encode to keep the full frame rate of these outlier scenes, I can't properly decimate the rest of the telecined 24fps scenes. Any ideas on how to go about encoding this?
  6. I found an AMD Gaming PC on Amazon and was wondering how outdated it is. In the Product description it's equivalent to an Intel i5 with R7 240 Graphics card, so just buy comparison how outdated would this AMD build be?? lol Amazon Link: $499.99 AMD Gaming PC Also was curious if these custom gaming builds would be able to run most if not nearly all relatively new games @ MAX SETTINGS: Intel Build: Intel Boxed Core I7-6700K 4.00GHz LGA1151 CPU ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO LGA1151 Motherboard 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws 4 DDR4 2400MHz PC4-19200 CL14 Intel X99 Quad Channel kit (4x4GB) Black Heatsinks x2 ASUS STRIX Radeon R9 390X Overclocked 8 GB DDR5 OCZ Technology 256GB Vector Series SSD Cooler Master Seidon 120M Water Cooling System Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1500W PSU AMD Build: AMD FX 9370 H20 Cooled CPU ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z Motherboard Corsair Vengeance Pro 1600MHz 32GB RAM x2 Sapphire Radeon R9 295X2 8GB OCZ Technology 256GB Vector Series SSD Cooler Master Seidon 120M Water Cooling System Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1500W PSU
  7. The soundtrack of the new Lion King based spin-off series 'The Lion Guard: Music From The Tv Series' is officially on Itunes. This soundtrack includes songs from the movie and pilot 'The Lion Guard: Return Of The Roar'. But,it also includes new songs from episodes that haven't aired yet for example 'Sisi Ni Sawa(We're The Same) which is a song sung by Kion and a good Hyena named Jasiri who will appear in episodes airing this year. Can anyone get this soundtrack as nowhere else but Itunes and Spotify has it unfortunately.
  8. I'm wondering is there a way to record the livestream? I like to watch a toonami livestream each Saturday, and i want to try to record them. Is there any way of doing that? Thanks
  9. OK here is my problem, 95% of the time, when I download a video, and try to play it using vlc my computer goes black, and after a minute will go back on and my pc will give me an error. (Cant remember what it said). And the screen will be zoomed in. and then audio will start playing. And if I go to YouTube it won't play the video just audio. my pc is running on windows xp. I also bought the pc used and when I boot it up, windows says it isn't genuine. The problem started around when I downloaded vlc in late 2014. But it was on rare occasions. Now it happens almost every time I download I new video. One last thing, audio plays every time.

  11. I wanted to watch one of my favorite anime of all time MAR (in dub) but when I started watching the sound was 4 seconds off for every website that I looked at. I had to start 2 videos in the same time, one for audio while the other for video too watch it properly. There are no torrents, and not many websites that still show it, I love this anime but with the sound as it is I really don't want to watch it. If anyone has the dvd I would be grateful if they put it on the internet.
  12. Ok so for those not totally familiar with me, and for those who just don't know, I work third shiftat a grocery store on self scan. One of my responsibilities att night is keeping up with the front candy. As such I have a little notebook that has a shelf replica that I write the soonest expiration on the shelf for each candy item in it's slot. I am also expected to order, and keep up with what I have on bacstock and what not. What I am looking for is an app that I can click on any one "shelf" item for it to bring up the order number, plu number, price, expiration date thapt is changeable, case count in back stock, and last truck I ordered it. So in effect I am looking for either a mass self maintained webpage, or an exhaustive drop down database. Thanks for the time, and dying to hear suggestions . If I have to write it out as a program I guess I could do that.

I am tattoo artist and visual artist by trade and would like to post a few things... thought I'd ask before I go and make myself into a "rule breaker" before I can even edit my sig and whatnot-LoL
  16. Hello people of Kametsu! Been a long time hasn't it. Anyhoo, considering the sudden little jolt in the lit section's ass as of late, I decided to see if I could get a little advice/help on a story that quite literally came to me in a dream. I'm not even sure if this coherent at all. I mean, it was quite literally a case of me waking up and going "Holy fuck, that was an awesome dream! Wait. That would make an awesome story! Paper, fast!" before falling on my ass is a mess of covers and sheets while desperately trying not to forget the little details that made the dream awesome. But alas some of the details are gone, some are distorted and some are just down right weird. What I'm asking is a little help too see if this actually sounds any good, and if so, should I begin work on it? Please, be brutal here. Anything that sounds off, or what ever do tell me. It seems I'm rambling again, so here is some of the detail. At present, cause I couldn't remember there being any real plot other than what is stated in the setting section of what I managed to jot down. Setting: It was a post apocalyptic setting, with a ruined futuristic cityscape where massive skyscrapers have been blasted open and left to decay and the ground is scorched and dry. The Witch is found at the only green part of the whole city, near its centre and surrounded by circular and geometric garden fixtures. Her area is actually a large airship, as is revealed later (as it was revealed later on in the dream I mean, the actual design wasn’t really evident, but it seemed similar to Haven from Mortal Engines). The actual setting, backstory and the likes wasn’t touched upon in the dream, as it focused mostly on the Witch making contact with tribals in amongst the city and giving them an Elixir to remove disease and other things. But thats for later. The Witch: In the dream she seemed, cold, calculating yet oddly humorous and always sarcastic. She seemed to have a complicated with the other named character; Satan, jumping between an intense hatred to a jovial and almost romantic friendship. I can’t really remember what she looked like (other than she had black hair and was constantly covered in what appeared to be motor oil or axel grease, further alluded to when she mentions her “profession”) Her name isn’t actually the Witch as far as the dream went, and was actually the name the tribals had given her. She is the creator of the Elixir, or at least I believe she was, and only wanted to give it too 33 individuals; 12 males and 21 females, but after it is revealed that the “Liasons” have given it in a watered down form to most of the organised tribals she is revolted and warns of troubles to come. Wasn’t touched on in the dream as too what, but that will be easy to rectify myself. She seemed very intelligent and in control of her emotions, except in her interactions with Satan. She also had a fondness for orchestral music, and intially chose the “Tribe” due to their musical talents that she witnessed during dance/ritual they were performing. The Devil (Satan, is what I called him after waking up): Nothing much was touched upon in the dream. Other than his interactions with the Witch, he does not actually say much. He was often seen prancing about, almost as if doing ballet, while he was interacting with the Witch. He seems to have an intense love of food, specifically the food the Witch had in the marketplace onboard her airship. Where the food comes from isn’t touched upon however. He is seen in every interaction cooking a meal of some sort and has access to perfectly clean plates, silverware and proper dinner clothes, along with flowers despite no flowers being shown onboard the airship or elsewhere in the dream (notable exceptions being the Hippy-eque tribal group that the “Liasons” interact with later in the dream, who have daisies and other small flowers in their hair and houses). He was always in a white suit with a red rose on his lapel. He also is the only character to wear shoes (I didn’t see the Witch’s feet but I imagine she wear sandals or something similar) and is also seen cleaning and polishing them. I'll put more info when I'm finished decrpyting (the handwriting is atrocious, as too be expected when in a rush, in the morning and crumpled in pain from jamming your "jewels" into a chair leg... ) and translating it onto my computer. Does this seem interesting or am I just whacking out cause it was a dream? Do you guys and gals see any potential in this for development?
  17. Hello! I only recently decided to venture out into manga would so i decided to ask for some advice... What websites to you use to search for new manga with tags (not MAL) (like AniDB for anime) Also I read few stories like Sundome, Mx0 and some others. So I realized that i dislike Coming of Age, High School/Club/School Life and a lot of drama stories. While everything else is okay and hence a second question What would you recommend to read for a beginner? and something that is completely finished and scanned (I prefer to read finished stories but if you would tell me when to stop it would be okay) Or something popular in manga world like Code Geass or Death Note in anime? Please to criticize because i realized that going thought MAL database without any idea of what to look for is pointless. and so Thanks in Advance! P.S. If its wrong place to post this question please move the topic
  18. Alright, folks, this has been troubling me for a while. I am by no parameter an expert encoder so forgive me if the solution to my problem is obvious. A little background first. I wanted to make backup copies of all the DVDs and Blu-rays in my collection - mostly anime, some live action stuff - so that I didn't have to keep lugging all the sets around to different houses. As I go from my mum's house and my dad's house all the time, when I had a small collection this wasn't really an issue. Now I have more than a shelf of stuff this is more of an issue. I'm sure like many of you I don't like the idea of carrying my entire collection in one easy, stealable DVD pouch. So, I decided to see about making backups to take and put them on my PS3 up there. Anyway, I've managed to start doing it (detailed below for your reference) but the big problem I'm having is with the Title ID3 tag. I can't seem to clear them after finishing the process of getting them sorted for PS3. It seems that the problem is the PS3 reads the Title ID3 tag rather than the actual filename like the Xbox 360 does. So, for example, I've done the first season of Black Butler and the file-names are as they should be (episode names) but the Title ID3 tags are the same as the disc (MANGA UK - Black Butler - C1 - D1) which is what the PS3 reads. I'll include some images as well so you guys know what I'm referring to better. Basically, what I'm after is a way to clear the ID3 tag, or at least change it so that it's the same as the filename. For some reason, unlike non-protected MP3 files, I can't edit the Title ID3 tag at all. In fact, I can't change any of the properties under the 'Details' ribbon within properties. None of the files have anything in the Copyright ID3 tag so it's nothing to do with that. I know some people will just say, 'Take you're Xbox with you then' but as the Xbox can only read external memory upto 16gb in capacity that's not really a solution. Plus I'd be replacing carrying my collection around with carrying a console around so that wouldn't really be any better. So, I put it to you, encoders, whose work I've never seen suffer the same problem so clearly there's something I'm missing, can you help me at all? Images This image shows the difference between the filename (on the left) and the Title ID3 tag (on the right). I want to clear the ID3 tag, or at least change it to the same as the filename, either or. This image shows the file on Xbox 360 with the latest updates. It reads the filename and therefore isn't a problem. This is the exact same file on PS3 with the latest updates. It reads the ID3 tag so I can't tell which episode is which. Encoding Method 1. Use MakeMKV to rip from DVDs/Blu-Rays. http://makemkv.com/ 2. If required, use mkvmerge GUI to split files into individual episodes. 3. Encode using self-made batch file to create smaller video file, code found below. This is done using the latest 8-Bit X264 binary (32-Bit version) x264 --preset veryfast --tune animation --crf 18 -o %1.8bit.mkv %1 4. The file is now ready for PC and plays fine via MPC. 5. Convert using Freemake video converter (crap I know) to convert to compatible .avi file for both consoles (XVID video/AAC audio) 6. The files play fine on both consoles, that isn't the issue. It's the ID3 tag that messes the whole approach up because it mean's I can't tell which episode is which. I'm sure there are better, more efficient programs to do a lot of the stuff up here (Handbrake and all that shit) but I don't want to do this "professionally", I'm doing it to make my life easier. Any help greatly appreciated.
  19. I am redundant when it comes to irc. I have tried to download anime about 10 times now with X-chat now, but to no avail. I can't even figure out how to connect to kametsu irc server yet. I am unable to access the tutorials on the main page too.
