FUNimation Picks Up 'elDLIVE' for January 26th Winter Simuldub

    By Koby,

kn1RrN1.jpgAfter updating their website finally last night, FUNimation's Simuldub listing shows they've picked up elDLIVE for a Winter Simuldub.

It'll premiere on Thursday, January 26th at 8:00 PM Eastern.

elDLIVE is Akira Amano's, creator of Hitman Reborn and character design of Psycho-Pass, latest anime project.

Chuuta Kokonose is an orphan who lives with his aunt. For as long as he can remember, he's had a voice in his head, but other than that he's a normal boy—right until the day when a strange-looking thing follows him home and teleports him to a place filled with more fantastic creatures. It's a space police station, and Rein Brickke, the Chief of Solar System Department, tells him that he's been chosen by the computer as a possible candidate to join the police force. Misuzu Sonokata, a girl from Chuuta's school with an angelic face and ill temper who turns out to be one of Rein Brickke's subordinates, doesn't think him suitable for such a job. Chuuta, who was shocked at first, decides to take the aptitude test after being urged by the voice in his head and to prove Misuzu wrong.

In other news, they've apparently pushed the Chain Chronicle Simuldub premiere back by a week as it's now listed to start February 7th.

Amazon to Stream Studio Ghibli's "Ronja, the Robber's Daughter" English Dub Premiere on January 27th

    By Koby,

Last fall, Studio Ghibli revealed that English dub work was being finalized on the 3DCG adaptation of Swedish author Astrid Lindgren's children's fantasy novel Ronja the Robber's Daughter from Goro Miyazaki, the son of Hayao, and Polygon Pictures, in cooperation with Ghibli. And, plans were announced for the series to stream on Amazon's Prime Video service. With it now set to launch on January 27th, Amazon has posted a trailer.

    They describe the series:

Presented by Studio Ghibli. The daughter of a professional robber, Ronja realizes the complicated nature of her father’s profession when she befriends Birk, the child of a rival tribe. She struggles to balance this friendship with her family relationship but comes to understand, how differences can be overcome with the help of love and understanding.

The epic 26-part story of a ten-year-old girl born on a stormy night in a mountain fort, surrounded by her parents and a loving band of robbers. She grows to be a strong and active girl, and discovers that the forest is both a beautiful and frightening place inhabited by strange creatures. She befriends the son of her father's rival and so begins the drama of her friendship and family loyalties. We watch as she explores and understands these key factors in her life, and discovers that seemingly irresolvable choices can finally be made with the help of love and understanding.

    Amazon Launches Anime Streaming Service

    By PhantomKO,

Amazon has long pushed Amazon Prime as its main streaming service. In the past it has picked up streaming services such as Twitch, the live game streaming service, to expand its catalog. Now, for the first time, Amazon is launching its own subscription-based streaming service.

Anime Strike is $4.99 a month and comes with 1,000 movie and TV shows including “classics, exclusives, and hard-to-find content (like new episodes from Japan’s famed late-night anime blocks),” the company says. It adds that the lineup has “recent hits like The Great Passage, and same-day-as-broadcast series with episodes released weekly direct from Japan, including Scum’s Wish and Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga.” If you want to try out the service you can get a free 7-day trial of Anime Strike to see if it will work for you.

Amazon Channels allows you to manage your subscriptions to more than a 100 services through Amazon, which enables you to subscribe to channels such as HBO, Showtime, Starz, and many more without the need for a separate app or the need to enter your billing information for each service. It will be interesting to see how successful this service is for Amazon. It is possible this may be the first of many new services that Amazon will be rolling out. It could allow Amazon to offer specific content without having to force it into the Amazon Prime subscription.

'Constantine' Resurrected as Animated Series by CW Seed

    By Koby,

The DC Comics drama, which was most recently adapted for TV by NBC, will return as an animated series on CW Seed, it was announced Sunday at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. Matt Ryan, who starred on the short-lived NBC drama, will voice the lead character.

The animated series will consist of five or six 10-minute episodes that will premiere during the 2017-18 TV season. On CW Seed, Constantine joins fellow animated DC Comics series Vixen, which launched its second season in October. Additionally, the 13 episodes of the live-action Constantine drama are available for streaming on CW Seed.

Like Vixen, which is set in the Arrow universe that consists of The CW's live-action dramas Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Constantine has crossed over with Arrow in the past.

Ryan reprised the role in a 2011 episode of Arrow shortly after the series was canceled by NBC. Both Constantine and Arrow, like all of DC Comics-inspired TV series, are produced by Warner Bros. Television. When asked on Sunday about another possible crossover, The CW president Mark Pedowitz said "there are no plans to," but added that he'd love to have Ryan back.

Based on the DC character created in 1985, Constantine centers on John Constantine, a man who struggles with his faith as he is haunted by the sins of his past and suddenly is thrust into the role of defending humanity from the gathering forces of darkness. In the NBC series, he was a British exorcist and occult detective who spends his days hunting supernatural entities.

Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer (Batman Begins) adapted Constantine for NBC in 2014 from the DC series Hellblazer. The series drew poor viewership and was canceled in May 2015. Despite efforts by Warner Bros. TV to find a new home for the drama, reportedly at NBC cable network Syfy, among other outlets, the cast was released from their contracts the following month.

Goyer also will be an executive producer on the animated series, along with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, who also are exec producers on The CW's superhero slate.

Constantine joins a crowded lineup of DC properties on the small screen. In addition to The CW's slate of superhero series, all of which were renewed Sunday for the 2017-18 season, the network also has iZombie; Fox is home to Gotham and Lucifer; and AMC boasts Preacher. NBC also is getting ready to launch the first DC Comics comedy, Powerless, this spring.

  • Donation Goals

    Server (05/17+)

In order to ensure funds are there to pay the server bills we try to have donations ready in advance. So this goal will cover the next year in server fees. As of writing this, we currently have funds for the next 3 to 4 months left. Figured it's better to be prepared rather than worrying last minute month-to-month whether or not we'll hit enough to make the payments. So if you can chip in, it's much appreciated. If you can't, we understand.

    $401.70 of $600.00 goal reached.

I am really disappointed to hear that one of our very own members has decided to leave, due to people disrespecting his wishes.

I reached out to him in his initial post because I was genuinely shocked to hear the news in the Simpsons thread.  Anyone who tries to convince a forum member to come back, solely for their releases is awfully selfish and should really reevaluate themselves, do some soul-searching, and ask why they joined this community in the first place.  If your answer is "Oh, I only come here for the downloads," you've missed the point.  These forums more than just a place to download files for your personal viewing!  Kametsu is a COMMUNITY, FIRST and FOREMOST.  REMEMBER this, folks!

While I will CONFESS that I initially joined Kametsu to get the ONLY WEB-DL release of MTV's Good Vibes, I STAYED BECAUSE of this great COMMUNITY.  I've learned about some great software and improved on my own SKILL as an encoder, myself.

While I haven't uploaded anything new in a while, I do plan to in the not-so-distant future, as I have some files have yet to pop up here, as I try to post things unique to Kametsu.

I suppose that's all I have to say without sounding like I'm talking over myself.

OK if you haven't seen the sticky in Broadcast Station yet, remember the mail server is temporarily disabled for 48 hours to address a spam issue with sending too much+too fast. There won't be any new subscribed threads emails or registration confirmation emails of any kind for that time period, as a result, sorry for the inconvenience.
