  1. I'm currently working on an AMV, but it's comedy/parody themed. Have any of the contest thus far been for comedy/parody theme, or have they always been more action orientated?
  2. AMV hell is beyond funny! Ive seen all of them, including AMV Hell 0... Warning- AMV Hell 0 is all hentai clips. I wanted to take steel wool and bleach to my eyeballs about 10 minutes into it... Most of the video's are scattered around youtube, on animemusicvideo.org for download, or the AMV Hell website, where you can get all the videos on dvd...
  3. Higurashi is a rather serious series from what Ive seen, but it is insane nonetheless... Ive been meaning to watch all of it, so thanks for reminding me! I started watching "Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt" and OMG it's insane! It's almost too much for me... I'm glad to find something that actually shocks me!
  4. I have FLCL and Excel Saga in my collection... I've seen Desert Punk, but *spoiler* the ending ticked me off a bit... I will have to go check out Cencoroll and Dead Leaves tho! Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
  5. I'm looking for a show that will make me sit back and say "O...M...G... Did they just say/do that?" I'm in need of a good laugh these days. I like insane stupidity as much as the next otaku, but intelligence in a comedy would be HIGHLY appreciated! I'm open to any suggestions...
  6. Your J-Rock thread was closed so I figured I would tell you about a band or two that I would recommend...

    Maximum The Hormone- Psycho-Punk J-Rock

    and

Aural Vampire- Creepy Melodic Electronic J-Rock...

Hope I was of some help to ya...

  7. There truly are bigger fish to fry in America, like healthcare (I'm disabled, so I'll rant about that one forever) and education, and finances in general. Oppressing the internet is only going to result in new and more difficult ways to try to keep piracy at bay. Piracy will never stop. People have proven throughout history that they are ever resourceful, and when a group puts their collective minds to something, it will happen. Piracy is only an issue because of money. People believe that they need to be paid in excess for a tv show, when television was free in its infancy, and they were paid adequately for their part in a series. Three cheers for greed? Ok- rant over for now...
  8. While I believe there are a lot of unsavory things on the internet, this bill is not the way to deal with them. I know good and well that its possible to track an isp address, so if someone is running a site (like child porn, etc...) they can track them down using that isp address. If something like this is passed, the only thing we have to look forward to is a snowball effect of controlled information. I believe that freedom of speech applies to ANY written text, including the internet... What will they block next? Sites with "Gothic" fashion because the government thinks the clothings ugly? Band sites because the government thinks the music is "too loud..." Needless to say, I signed it and posted it on my facebook...
  9. I agree with F40soldier on FMA. The movie and the "Brotherhood" series has helped fill in the gaps left in the first series...
  10. 1- FLCL (Fooly Cooly) 2- XXXHOLiC (and ANYTHING connected to it) 3- Full Metal Panic (Fumoffu and Second Raid included) 4- Cowboy Bebop 5- Ghost Stories (The INSANE English dub only)
  11. Desert Punk's ending ticked me off. Gurren Lagann's ending I somewhat expected, but it did feel like they were fishing for a way to cut the series short. Having a character you like die off (like in Samurai 7) does epically suck, but it sometimes adds depth to the storyline. I would have LOVED to have seen Tsubasa Chronicle finished and not be left with the sense of abandonment. 52 episodes and the OVA were no where near what the manga covered! The MASSIVE leap the OVA makes from the last episode is confusing to people who never read the manga in the first place, and takes some mental back-tracking for those that read it to keep up...
  12. I always thought that this series was under-rated. I have several friends that became more involved in the anime community because of this series. I would love to see a season two be released. Just don't stray too far from the manga please anime producers! And I'm one of those people that "if I watch a series online and like it, I'll go buy it when it's released." More people need to support the anime companies, and avoid things (like ADV films going under) from happening to any other companies...
  13. I watched it when it came out in Japan 2 years ago. I guess I did not look at the date this thread was started. The series was comedic, so I never took it seriously that the bats had a purpose aside from comedic relief. I assumed that this thread was started because of the English release of the series. Sorry...
  14. I honestly thought "CN" lost it with the murder of "Toonami" and the removal of Steve Blum as the little robot we all adored. I thought the video was a little quacked out, but have you seen any of the other crap that channel parades around as entertainment? Where can I get my hands on a "Genocide of a Sub-Culture" trap card? Because Some American companies are playing it in spades these days...
