professa X
So basically we do the process backwards: 1) first tell the composer to make a bunch of insane tracks for fighting, emotional, etc2) based on that, the animator makes the scenes that would fit the music ( with approval from musician)3) create a the plot for the scenes based on the animation (with approval of animator)4) rinse an repeat Tell me what you think by polling then telling me in the posts If you like my topic then hit the like button! Vaux
Always gotta start with a plot, since it has an effect on everything else. No reason you can't get the music made straight afterwards though. Also you can't really animate until you have finished character designs. You really have to finish the ground work before you can start serious work, otherwise it's unorganised and unlikely to gel together. You could reverse the plot process, start with the end result and work backwards?

That way does work. But think of rappers. They rap to the music. They dont rap and then add the music later. I think it increases the challenge of creativity. Vaux
It certainly makes it more challenging, but I just don't think it'd work well. Rap music is about one person being spontaneous, the amount of people involved would be at least 3 with your set-up, and that's a lot of artistic differences. It also works on the previous artists approval, so they have quite a big say so in how it can turn out. An easy way to look at is to take one of your favourite series and work it backwards. A piece of music can have a great effect on the era, pace, style of a animation/film, you wouldn't play Pendulum in the background of a period drama. Then the animation has an effect on the plot because it has characters and their interaction between each other. In the end you're only really trying to fit things together, like a jigsaw puzzle with no picture, if you have a picture putting the puzzle together is a whole lot easier. Lol. No i see ur point. I say an indie anime should make it. And let the shots be heard.
