assistance in downloading

This sounds like a dumb problem... But a couple of things:

1. Check the CRC (CRC32). It should be in the filename. If it doesn't match, redownload the file.

2. List these things:

link to the file you downloaded

media player used to play the file and any codec pack(s) you have installed

system specs (RAM, processor, etc)

Your ISP can inject ads into your download stream, but I don't believe they can interact with your system. Chances are your media player setup is wrong and/or you installed something to download the file (a few hosts trick you into this).
