professa X
well sort of. they got a patent for it. if this goes through i will become an apple fan! Sure it is a little more restrictive than drm. But this is moving forward in terms of thinking of ways to share files. Hopefully they come out with a less restrictive method and hopefully other content distributors try to make ways for this. http://torrentfreak.com/apple-wants-legalize-license-p2p-sharing-150123/ Edited January 25, 2015 by professa X
JohnFlower
How is this a step forward? It has DRM, which is several steps backwards in any sane person's book.
ZeroPenguins
AFAIK didn't Bittorrent already have a legal way of sharing copyrighted media with P2P anyways? Who the heck would even want to use Apple's DRM version of it. Besides P2P protocol is 100% legal to begin with already.

StaticX
I don't see the point of P2P sharing on Apple Devices, I know they have file manager apps when you Jailbreak them, but you still need a specialized browser app of sorts to search through iDevices
JohnFlower
AFAIK didn't Bittorrent already have a legal way of sharing copyrighted media with P2P anyways?I believe they wanted to have some sort of legal distribution for music. I don't remember the details nor can I find anything about it. It would probably be on torrentfreak.
