Queen’s Blade Utsukushiki Tōshi-tachi OVA Announced

The May issue of Hobby Japan magazine is revealing on Thursday that a Queen’s Blade Utsukushiki Tōshi-tachi OVA is being announced.

Queen’s Blade began as Hobby Japan’s Japanese game spinoff from Flying Buffalo’s Lost Worlds combat picture book games. The television anime adaptation’s first season, Queen’s Blade -Rurō no Senshi-, aired in Japan from April to June of last year. The second season, Queen’s Blade: Gyokuza o Tsugumono, was announced immediately after the last episode of the first season. The second season premiered this past September.

Media Blasters CEO John Sirabella revealed last November that his company has acquired both television seasons of Queen’s Blade with plans for dubbing them into English.

Media Blasters Adds Queen’s Blade & Ikkitousen 3

Media Blasters CEO John Sirabella has revealed on the Anime on DVD forums on Thursday that his company has acquired the Queen’s Blade and Ikkitousen: Great Guardians anime series for North America. He also added that each of the anime will “get a dub,” and that both Queen’s Blade seasons are scheduled for release before next summer.

Geneon Entertainment once released the first Ikkitousen anime series in North America, and Funimation now has the license. Media Blasters announced at Anime Expo 2007 that it had licensed the second Ikkitousen anime series, Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny. Tokyopop released the original manga in North America under the name Battle Vixens.
